The "Semana de Buenos Aires" is a multiclass event organised by the Yacht Club Argentino at their venue in the city of Buenos Aires. The championship is a first class event, attended by many top sailors, local and from abroad.

The racing area is approximately 24 kilometres to the south of San Isidro, right off the Buenos Aires harbour. Sailing conditions are not exactly the same as in San Isidro (waves might be higher and the current pattern can vary a little) but it is still on the Rio de la Plata and, for those used to sailing on the sea, it is a great opportunity to get familiar with our river.

Please see below the official invitation from the YCA to their event. As written below, sailors attending the SBA and the Worlds will have a special charter fee of USD 100 for the duration of the SBA. Days in between the two weekends will have a cost of USD 30 per boat per day. Sailors who would like to take advantage of this fee will be given the same boats they will use for the Worlds. These boats will be handed out at the venue of the YCA and sailors will be responsible for the boats till the end of the Worlds. After the SBA (from October 14th inclusive), the charter fees of the Worlds will become effective, at USD 30 per boat per day. Please contact us form more information or book your boats through our online reservation forms, for which you need login details. Please write to us at

The XXIº edition of the “Semana de Buenos Aires” championship will take place on October 4, 5, 11, 12 and 13. It is a friendly competition, both competitive and fun, between dinghies sailors from all around the world.

Semana de Buenos Aires is one of the most important dinghy championships in South America and the best sailors of the region travel to Buenos Aires to compete in this “must race” year after year. Much has been done to prepare for the 2014 event and much more will be done over the next few months to ensure that we can exceed the high bar set in 2013.
